* ‘make something’ – it would defeat the object of a participatory course to tell you what to make. It could be anything from a picture to a poem to a blog post to a video to a sound sample to a sculpture.

After reading what we had to do and “show some thing to expresse ourselfs and who we are” i could only think of one thing!

Im a social peron and always will be i think this show it. My friends always come first and this sums up me!

The main issue that has stuck with me during these lectures is copyright and its issues. How easy it is to break copyright or change something tiny such as colour and claim that image is yours.

Both articles are very different. The BBC one almost give the impression of backing up the fact that blue water have banned hoodies from the shopping centers. They associate the hoodie with ” anti social behaviour” and claim that its hard to see inderviduals when they have there hood up etc. The blog however talks about how they believe hoodies to be pratical and away of keeping warm. You should have the right to wear what you want! The main difference between the two reports is one is generally the news that they have been banned and why yet the blog is a straight in your face angry memember of the public at why the hoodies have been banned.

This is a picture i used recently for a project from istock. I can use this picture for anything i want so long as its not mainstream. If this picture was used for something such as a univeristy project there would be no problem an changes can be made. As soon as you use this image for somethign that could be sold e.g t-shirt or c cover you could be in big trouble and are in the risk of being prosecuted

identify a media artefact produced outside the traditional mainstream media and explain what ‘qualities’ it has / does not have.

Well i found an artist online on youtube.com known as “v double o” who is a unknown rapper in the uk. As far as qualitities goes there are many! a very talented person online trying to get themselfs pushed into the mainstream industry. He is talented, young and very skillfull but its just that push from being non mainstream music an to sitting in your bedroom trying ot get big! As for qualities there is only one main one for me that is blatenly obvious! its some one sitting in there bedroom as home trying to get big in the music industry. If he were signed this music could be a hell of alot better!

Well that it as of 2mrw the holidays are over and were back 2 working hard! and thats exactly what im plannin on doing this year the work is going to be busted out! but its all good fun have a good clear head this term want to get lots done but were see! working away hard now getting things sorted for 2mrw group session! so take it easy!

Game Politics… Its basically a website for gamers, there thought and views on games. New games new releases and general talk about games and the media covering them. The only diffrence about this website is that straight away you can tell its aimed at a higher educated audience rather than your standard 15 year old shooting up zombies! It touches the media around games. The news. Like recnet news that Playing your playstation3 online is dangeours due to being close to racist and rude remarks. The main diffrence about this website is that it hits the politics side and any user can sign up to the forum and put there point across. The website talks about legistation and gamers health etc. Personally i think this website does not empower people. It lets people put their views across, but does not force their opinion down your throat as there are so many diffrent onces. You can choose to believe what you want from the statements made or just complete not agree and write you own thoughts and let others comment on them!

HMMMM! well although this is late i thought i really better start gettign involved with my blog! The second year eh? quality well i made it here so i cant be that bad! Loving uni so so much but i still believe this is not the correct course for me im deffiently a people person. Dont get me wrong im in to my computer and my games etc but this course might as well be called geek-interaction. Of coure by this im not suggesting that any one on the course is a geek either are the lectures etc, far from. Just i spose the course is not me. Looking back i think i would of much preferd events management or some thing of that nature. Also i didnt relise the uni did a course in radio or i would of snapped that up! Im still fighing away and have my head up although alot has been going on with me atm! been having some good time and i do believe i have started workgn a bit harder although i know im not here for the degree. I do still leave every thing to the last minute and just scrape a pass! Time to sort things out? Or do you really have to have a passion in something to put so much workin into it… time will tell! Apart from that messy night out this friday! get involved! kiz x !

Well, i thought was about time i got on here and wrote something new mainly cause im so so bored! uni life is still cool as for the course well im shocking at it… cant do anything quite funny really pretty much my life story.. finished the audiences project and started it again 2 days before deadline after cing dans and a few others… so got 2 weeks to do it all again using a program i hardly can use.. (flash) oh of course i attend as many lectures etc as i can but im always struggling so hard 2 keep up i really dont learn anything! but its cool im back home cing my people and doing my thing… will get it done always do, one day at a time, fed up of middle class people with there noses up in the air, good 2 be home…

woo… time to give up ?

Well things are getting a bit deep now, and well starting to think i should not be at university at all… Most of the people on a much diffrent level to me im a hands on person im not used to writting and deep words, i did not take a levels i was in a studio for 3 years recoding and making music. I was deffently not ready for this jump. Im going to give the course what i can just think could be a strugle…. Not scared of a challenge just wish i went to the army at 16 all i have every wanted to do but held back for familys sake.

I love media, the whole subject as a genre is class, just think i will struggle alot more than other students in the written and theoy side, i find it very hard to concentrate in lectures… mind wonders…
Living away and that is no problem i been my own person and been able to stand on my own two feet for time, thats just theway i was brought up to an extent, had good teachers.

Maybe im going a bit deep cause feeling a bit shit, but bed for me, and 2mrw time to look at all your great personal diarys, whilst mine sorta looks unsure of what to do at all…
